Die Projekte des Forschungszentrums weisen jedoch über die Kernaufgabe der Institution - dem Bewahren von Bibliotheks- und Archivbeständen der tschechischen Minderheit - hinaus und beschäftigen sich generell mit Fragen der Migration. Die Bandbreite der Projekte reicht von Ausstellungen, wissenschaftliche Studien, EU-Projekte (ERASMUS+, Interreg 3A Österreich-Tschechien), Tagungen und Workshops.
Die Kooperation und Vernetzung mit unterschiedlichen Bildungsinstitutionen und Stakeholdern aus dem Bereich der Migrations- und Minderheitenforschung ist dem Forschungszentrum für historische Minderheiten nach wie vor ein großes Anliegen.
